Lots of foreclosures and vacant commercial properties, of course.
Yet, the light rail line is doing quite well and have had to increase service. Once again, another western US city opens an electrified railway transit line. For the past 20 years, 80% of the new rail transit development in the US is occurring at all points west of Chicago. Seattle, Denver and Portland just opened new lines this year. Dallas opened a 4-mile extension in September. Houston is tearing up streets on the east side, north side and southeast side to lay down streetcar tracks. Why is it the western US where almost all the new transit development is occurring? Save Charlotte, virtually nothing has happened in the last few years east of St. Louis.
