South Ossetian President: Well, we do not forbid the USA to hold elections to Senate or Congress
Read it in Russian

US opinion is not so important for South Ossetia, South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity said at the International Press Center in Tskhinvali on November 10 in response to a REGNUM correspondents request to comment on George Bushs spokesmans statement against presidential election and referendum in South Ossetia.

Well, we do not forbid the USA to conduct elections to the Congress or Senate. We would have taken the US opinion into account, if it had engaged itself in the process and ceased the war in its time, as Russia did. But the Russian side took most of the burden upon itself then. Today, US opinion is not very important for us, the president said. The USA is the first to apply the double standard policy towards South Ossetia; the USA is the first to train Georgian military and finance the Georgian Defense Ministry, Eduard Kokoity added.

It is worth mentioning, a statement issued by the US Department of State says that the international community has clearly reaffirmed that South Ossetia is a part of Georgia and South Ossetias status is to be determined within Georgias border. At that, the Bush administration condemned the referendum and the presidential in South Ossetia.
